Samenvatting:
The ECN control toolbox is used to generate industrial wind turbine control algorithms. Therefore, it takes all practical constraints into account. The aim of the report is to emphasize the principles of classic control for variable speed, pitch regulated wind turbines in order to use this control toolbox for educational purposes. Besides incorporating fully automated industrial design the tool facilitates the user to design his own linear control algorithm for a simplified turbine model by taking all industrial use oriented additives out of consideration. Afterwards, the control design tool supports the controller evaluation in frequency and time domain, taking all the necessary industrial additives into consideration for evaluation in a real working environment (eg. non-linearity, optimisation, transition etc.).
