Samenvatting:
In this paper a number of obvious and less obvious differences are discussed between the irradiation on ideally situated PV-systems and on PV-systems in the built environment. The relevance of these differences has been quantified by conducting a case study, using data from measurements and from simulation models. The main conclusions are: The loss due to non-optimal orientation and the loss due to shading can be simulated using existing tools. More measurement data are required for validating the shading models. The reflection loss and the low irradiance loss can be simulated using existing tools. Both loss items depend on the orientation of the modules. No easy-to-use simulation tool exists for the quantification of the spectral effect. The spectral effect can be significant for amorphous silicon.
