Data on renewable energy in the European Union Member States

A collection of official data provided in the countries’ National Renewable Energy Action Plans (NREAPs) and in their Progress Reports on renewable energy.

On this webpage ECN is offering renewable energy data for free download. The data have been provided by 27 European Union Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Croatia is not included in this report.

Info on the NREAPs: this database and the accompanying data report assist various stakeholders in evaluating the ambitions of the European Member States. These documents were all published in 2010-2011 and are ‘carved in stone’, i.e. these documents will keep their value up to 2021, when the EU RES target will be evaluated.

Regarding the Progress Reports: so far the data from the progress reports (which were due in December 2011) were never released in an integral and accessible manner.  Below, the official Member State renewable energy data for 2009 and 2010 are available. The data for the years 2011 and 2012 are formally required to be handed to the European Commission by the end of December 2013.
