Today, a combination of 5 Dutch partners and KazAtomProm presented themselves at a meeting between the Kazakhstan Energy minister and the Dutch minister of Economic affairs. KazAtomProm has very ambitious goals with solar energy and the Dutch partners will provide technology to achieve these goals. The meeting is a starting point of the collaboration to achieve these goals.

Minister Shkolnik “Kazakhstan is known for the energy industry, and we expect solar energy to provide a substantial part of the electricity in the world. Kazakhstan is ideally suited to provide solar technology because we have all the natural resources to build the panels.”

Minister Kamp, “Solar energy is one of the main energy resources of the future. The Dutch government supports the development of this form of sustainable energy. In over half of all solar panels sold worldwide, Dutch technology is used. I expect that Dutch and Kazakh parties will develop more business in this area together.”

Mister Albert Hasper, CEO of Tempress Systems, “Solar companies in the Netherlands are all small and medium enterprises. Joining our forces is a recipe for success because we can cover almost all aspects together. It would be hard to achieve contracts like this on an individual basis.” Mister Robert Kleiburg, director of the Energy research Center of the Netherlands, “ECN is very proud to be selected as R&D partner and work together with the Dutch technology sector in solar energy and our partners in Kazakhstan on this ambitious project.”

First steps in the collaboration is to establish a joint technology roadmap and build the knowledge and manufacturing infrastructure in Kazakhstan to support a massive production platform. The combination of Dutch Solar companies consists of Eurotron, Royal HaskoningDHV, Lamers High Tech Systems, Tempress, and ECN and is already successful in Qatar.
