Transport

Transport studies by the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands, Unit Policy Studies

  • The transport sector is included in the integral analyses of the National Energy system. A tool is available that enables in depth analyses of the impact of various options for energy saving and emission reduction.
  • Alternative fuels. In several projects, both national and international, the potential of biofuels, electric vehicles and hydrogen is evaluated (see also web links below).
  • Recently the TEMPO transport model was developed (Transport Emissions Model for POlicy evaluation). The TEMPO model enables the calculation of emissions and energy use of the transport sector and the assessment of the impact of various policy measures.
  • In addition, the transport group has extensive knowledge on shipping, bunkers and aviation.
