Global Village Energy partnership (GVEP)
GVEP is a voluntary Partnership that brings together developing and industrialized country governments, public and private organizations, multilateral institutions, consumers and others in an effort to ensure access to modern energy services by the poor. GVEP is funded by WB, ESMAP, the US Agency for International Development, the US Department of Energy, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Winrock International and several private firms.
EU Energy Initiative for Poverty Eradication and Sustainable Development (EUEI)
The EUEI is a joint EU Commission and Member State Initiative to improve access to affordable and sustainable energy services, benefiting the poor. EUEI contributes towards the Millennium Development Goals and the Johannesburg Plan for Implementation, adopted at the 2002 World Summit for Sustainable Development.
Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP)
Coalition of progressive governments, businesses and organisations, initiated at the Johannesburg World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in August 2002 by the UK Government. REEEP initiative is funded by the UK Government.
HEDON
HEDON Household Energy Network is an informal forum dedicated to improving social, economic, and environmental conditions in the South, through promotion of local, national, regional and international initiatives in the household energy sector.
Africa Energy Forum (AEF)
AEF) provides an annual meeting place for African government ministers, utility executives, and the international energy community to discuss business opportunities associated with the restructuring of the power sector, the development and utilization of Africa’s natural gas resources, and the exploration and development of the continent’s oil resources.
Sparknet
SPARKNET has twelve member organisations from nine countries, and is the first formal Knowledge Network on Sustainable household energy in Southern and Eastern Africa. The project partners are aiming to assemble and disseminate (through an interactive Internet-based knowledge network) up-to-date knowledge (information, scenario analysis and policy assessment) on the low-income household energy situation in seven partner countries in East and Southern Africa.
ManagEnergy
ManagEnergy promotes co-operation between local and regional energy actors in Europe through workshops, study tours and online events on energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transport.
Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development (GNESD)
The Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development (GNESD) is a UNEP facilitated knowledge network of developing world Centres of Excellence and network partners, renowned for their work on energy, development, and environment issues.
Global Environment Facility (GEF)
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) is the largest source of funds for renewable energy in the developing world. As the financial mechanism for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the GEF has provided about $900 million for more than 110 projects in 50 countries. This support has leveraged almost $6 billion in additional cofinancing.

ESMAP, Energy Sector Management Assistance Programme, promotes the role of energy in poverty reduction and economic growth in an environmentally responsible manner.

The CSD Partnership Homepage
Partnerships for sustainable development were an important complementary outcome of the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD). The follow-up of this outcome is coordinated by the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN ESA). This site provides all the information on partnerships for sustainable development within the UN context.
The BASD Partnerships Database
Business Action for Sustainable Development (BASD) was a comprehensive network of business organizations that had come together under one banner in the interests of sustainable development. It is a joint initiative of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and of the World Business Council on Sustainable development (WBCSD). This link gives an overview of about 90 initiatives and partnerships in which the business sector is already engaged. The partnerships are divided according to the WEHAB themes.

The UNDP Global Learning Network
