Dutch energy and climate policy

ECN Policy Studies plays an important role in studies for Dutch energy and climate policy. ECN Policy Studies carries out studies in support of various stages of the policy process, covering both Dutch energy policy and policy for air quality and climate.

  • Projections and policy estimates show the development of emissions and energy use, depending on policy, (economic) growth and energy prices.
  • Options studies (in Dutch) map the options available to the Netherlands to realise emission reduction, renewable energy and reduction of energy use at the lowest possible cost.
  • Other policy support: ECN Policy Studies supports various policy processes by delivering the information that is needed.
  • Air quality: ECN also contributes to projections, options studies and other policy support in the field of air quality.
  • ECN Policy Studies publishes up to date information and data on energy and emission in the Netherlands, including historic developments and projections, on the website energie.nl (in Dutch).

In its studies, ECN Policy Studies deploys its knowledge in the fields of energy in the built environment, electricity supply, renewable energy, transport and energy saving.
