Ruth Mourik is a senior researcher at the Energy research Center of the Netherlands. She works on projects that focus on stakeholder participation, end-user behaviour, innovation management, user practices, risk perception, and societal acceptance of new technologies. She has previously worked on research commissioned by the European Commission, the Dutch Ministries of Environment and Economic Affairs, local governments and companies. She has a Masters Degree in Anthropology and Sociology, a Cum Laude Masters Degree in Society and Technology Studies (STS), and holds a PhD in risk communication, controversy analyses and public participation. She was project coordinator of the FP6 project CREATE ACCEPTANCE, that aimed to develop a tool that would increase societal acceptance of new energy, and is a main partner in the FP7 CHANGING BEHAVIOUR project that identifies all factors conducive to the success of DSM projects and translates them into a toolkit for DSM projectleaders. |
