Paul Vethman

Paul Vethman is researcher working for the group Energy Demand and Consumers at the unit Policy studies. He has a background in business economics and joined ECN in 2008. He is involved in research on national and international energy policies. His main focus is the built environment, specifically households. His work in this field regards scenario and evaluation studies, like national policy projections (for example the ‘Reference projections studies’), policy evaluation studies (for example the evaluation of the Dutch energy performance standard for new dwellings) and the modelling of energy using products policy (for example the Strategic modelling study, and development of ECN models for the energy use of households). Further fields of interest are investment and financing issues related to energy (for example the Changebest study on energy efficiency services, and research on financing options for private homeowners) and renewable energy production. Other projects he worked on are impact assessments for the European Commission on the ESD directive, research on local energy and climate policy, and realisation and management of the website Energiesubsidiewijzer.nl.
