How to reach the Petten Office:

Travelling by public transport:

• Going from Schiphol to Petten by public transportation you need to take a train the station Amsterdam Sloterdijk
• From Amsterdam Sloterdijk take the train to Alkmaar/Den Helder
• From Alkmaar railway station to Petten it is approximately 20 km by car
• A taxi is the most convenient transport
• Public transportation is by Bus 151 (line Alkmaar-Julianadorp) which departs every hour and takes approx. 25 minutes
• Ask the driver to alert you when you need to leave the bus for ECN

Travelling by car:

• At the junctions of the A4 (Den Haag), the A2 (Utrecht) and the A1 (Amersfoort), follow signs for Haarlem (A9) and then continue to Alkmaar A9.
• At the roundabout joining the A9 to the Alkmaar by-pass (verkeersplein Kooimeer; south of Alkmaar) follow signs to Den Helder (N9).
• As soon as you spot some dozen of wind turbines across the channel, be alert to take the second exit at the roundabout right after you passed the Burgervlotbrug (wooden bridge to the right) and follow signs to (ECN) Petten.
• Drive all the way until you see a camping site on the right
• Take the first exit on the roundabout (right turn)
• Follow that road until the ECN entrance on the left

Beware: ECN visitors need to show an official identity card in order to enter the ECN premises.
