Fuel and ash analyses

ECN has over 20 years of experience with analysing different kinds of fuels, such as coal, biomass and waste materials. Measurement of Proximate (ash, volatile, moisture), Ultimate (C, H, N, O, S, Cl, F, heating power, metals) takes place according to the, by KEMA, BTG and ECN formulated Best Practice List (NTA 8200). The application of ash as a raw material or building material is determined by the chemical composition and leach behaviour. In the area of leach characteristics of restmaterials, ECN can be considered a leading institute of fundamental research and practical applications. Analyses of leach behaviour is carried out under AP04 accreditation.
