Luuk Beurskens

Luuk Beurskens works as a scientific researcher in the group Renewable Energy at the Policy Studies Unit of ECN. His main focus of work is renewable energy in Europe. Luuk graduated in Mechanical Engineering, specialisation renewable energy systems. After obtaining the Master title at Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE) he finalised the postgraduate Energy Management studies in Lausanne (EPFL). Since his joining ECN in 2001, he worked on renewable potential studies, costs of renewable energy options, renewable policy incentive evaluations, scenarios for renewables, grid integration of renewable electricity options and electricity portfolio analyses. Before joining ECN, Luuk worked as a researcher at EPFL, Switzerland, on decision analysis for electricity systems. He performed his research for the final thesis of TUE at the German Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems on heat storage in buildings.
