Jaap Jansen is a senior research fellow at ECN Policy Studies. He obtained a Master’s degree in Development Economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1974 and a Master in International Finance at the University of Amsterdam in 2002. Jaap Jansen specialises in the economic aspects of energy and climate policy. Main research areas  are regulatory frameworks for stimulation and grid integration of renewable energy as well as  energy security policy in the EU. Jaap has coordinated, and participated in, many EU (co-)financed research projects. Moreover he performed advisory work for among others Dutch public authorities, World Bank, UNIDO, UNEP, IAEA and OECD/NEA.
