Hilke Rösler works as scientific researcher in the group Global Sustainability within the ECN unit Policy Studies. She specializes in the use and development of energy system models like MARKAL and TIMES. She has been using these models for a number of studies focussing on techno-economic analyses. Recent studies were on policy measures on renewable energy and climate change in Europe. In an ongoing project she is using the TIAM-ECN model for studying the impact of fuel and carbon prices on the feasibility of a sustainable hydrogen economy in which the competition of electric, hydrogen and biofuels cars plays a crucial role. In this project the geographical scope of the TIAM-ECN model is limited to Europe and the model is linked with an global fossil fuel supply model. She holds an MSc in theoretical mathematics.
