Casper Tigchelaar is an experienced researcher at the ECN, working in the policy studies department. He holds an MSc degree in environmental social science at the University of Utrecht. At ECN he has been involved in several national and international projects on energy efficiency in the Built Environment. In these projects a large variety of topics were studied, for instance the effect of Energy Performance Certificates, energy efficiency indicators for ESD and EED, NEEAPs, Cost-effectiveness of saving potentials and  technical saving potentials. The studies include ex-ante and ex-post evaluation studies, policy analyses and modelling of residential energy use. Energy related consumer behaviour has become a key topic in his work.  .
