COMPETES - Applications in 2009

In 2009, the COMPETES model has been used in projects in particular for future scenario analysis to assess the impact of developments in generation and demand on future market prices, import/export flows, potential bottlenecks in transmission lines etc. The projects in 2009 for which COMPETES is used are:

  • Congestion and Nodal pricing Analysis in Germany (Ozdemir et al., 2009)
  • Net benefits of a New Dutch Congestion Management System (Hers et al., 2009)
  • Quantitative analysis in EU project IMPROGRESS (Consent et al., 2010)
  • The impact of obligation levels and support schemes in the Netherlands on certificate prices , consumer and producer surplus (Koutstaal et al., 2010)
