ECN: Mechanical Engineering

ECN

Mechanical Engineering

Each process and each product is different. Through the years, the section Mechanical Engineering has been involved in the development of new technologies, especially aimed at energy research. This involvement has resulted in a large experience in many technical areas. The section has obtained many facilities to design, engineer and realise process installations or dedicated special-purpose products.

The section Mechanical Engineering can quickly absorb the specific ins and outs of a project. There is a broad range of experience and skills in finding reliable solutions to technical problems. Test as well as research facilities are easily accessible. The interdisciplinary project approach from a challenge to working system is remarkable. The section has proven to find practical answers to many difficult technical questions, whatever the scope has been. Furthermore Mechanical Engineering is taking care for the construction, furnishing and maintenance of fully-equipped laboratories, including their facilities and technical installations.

Drafts or indicative ideas are sufficient as a starting point. A personal interview, in which these ideas are discussed, is sufficient for ECN to create a document containing the specifications. The structured project approach of ECN, in which continuous feedback is given, improves the results and avoids mistakes.

The section Mechanical Engineering contains many disciplines:

  • Research & development
  • Process and system engineering
  • Design of prototypes and experimental installations download.pdf
  • Testing and commissioning of products and installations
  • Safety and risk analyses
  • Applied mechanics and high temperature construction methods
  • Computer Aided Design
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics and Solid Modelling
  • Project management for the building of products and installations

The section Engineering can count on the expertise and facilities of ECN, and has access to the latest state of the art of technology world-wide as well.

Engineering could be of service to you.
