R&D Program Efficiency and Infrastructure (E&I)

E&I works on three research programs:

1. Energy in the Built Environment studies the possibilities for application of renewable energy in buildings, both houses and utility buildings.
2. Intelligent Electricity Grids concerns itself with intelligent grids that can accommodate a large share of intermittent and decentralized sources.
3. Energy Efficiency in Industry concerns itself with efficient use of energy, leading to energy savings, particularly in energy-intensive production processes.
