Biomass combustion

ECN has a large knowledge base on all issues around the combustion of biomass in power plants, e.g., biomass co-firing with coal. We have world-class experts, equipment and models to predict the combustion behaviour, slagging, fouling, emissions of all types of solid and liquid biomass. For our customers, we also perform gas measurements in stacks of power plants and study real-life slagging and fouling inside boilers.
