New international seagriculture conference

Chances and opportunities in sea(weed) farming commodities

ECN, DLG BENELUX and Wageningen UR are happy to announce the 1st edition of Seagriculture: Sea(weed) Farming Commodities. An innovative international conference that will take place in Zeeland, the Netherlands from 18 to 20 September this year. Zeeland, being part of the Southwestern Delta as a confluent of the rivers Rijn, Maas and Scheldt became a hotspot of innovative aquaculture.

Business opportunities
The potential of seaweeds is enormous. At this international conference, participants will discover the business opportunities seaweed and seaweed commodities offer to their company. Science will meet practice, visions & trends in the field of starting materials, cultivation and harvesting, biofiltering and waste streams, as well as  biorefinery will be discussed. Posters will be presented and  technical visits to several aquaculture hotspots in the Eastern Scheldt are offered as well as  workshops. 

Leading in seaweed scene
The conference program is being prepared under the guidance of leading members from  the seaweed scene. The programme will be available on seagriculture.eu in due course. The conference will be of special interest for businesses and scientists in the field of marine biology, seafarming, food, feed and biobased economy.
