ECN: Sustainable energy

ECN

Working on a sustainable future

Energy is very important to the world. Energy use increases due to economic growth. As a result CO2 emissions increase and the climate changes. Clearly, the energy system needs to become more sustainable, which can also offer opportunities for businesses. ECN, the leading Dutch institute for energy innovation, is dedicated to realising this.

Europe, and the Netherlands in particular, needs to use all options at hand to achieve its climate objectives. This requires extensive research on the use of sustainable energy, energy conservation and clean use of fossil fuels: fields in which ECN is making significant headway. Over 60% of all solar modules contains ECN technology for example.
